Hundreds of Hermit Crabs at Ritidian Beach

I went to the northern most point on the island of Guam to a beach called Ritidian Beach this past week. The location of this beach was really out of the way from civilization, but the drive to the beach made for some spectacular views of Guam’s untouched northern coast during the last leg of the drive when I descended down from the cliffs to the coastline. I don’t think anyone lived in the surrounding area, and the only reason people would go there was to spend some time at the beach. While walking along the beach I noticed movement in the sand, and upon closer examination there were hundreds of hermit crabs like the one pictured below all along the beach. I’ve been told by the locals that there are huge crabs called coconut crabs on the island that can grow the size of car tires. I doubt I’ll ever get to see a coconut crab but I’ll keep my eyes open for one just in case!

  4. TravelDude Said,

I’m glad you guys like the photo. I was going to take some video of the beach to show all the hermit crabs scurrying around, but I left the video camera in the car and didn’t want to walk back to get it. Using the camera gave me a chance to practice taking pictures with the micro setting anyway.

Timeshare Vacations
Adventurers, golfers, beach bums, animal lovers, foodies – whatever you love to do on vacation, a timeshare resale or rental provides a great place to stay. Explore distant lands, speak with the locals, learn their customs, and take in the rich history of places you've only dreamed about. Timeshares are spacious and cost-effective, and will allow you to discover the world!

Have you been hit hard by the timeshare resale industry? Many owners who have tried to sell a timeshare have learned the hard way that it's very difficult. Timeshare resale companies charge an upfront fee, but do not sell your timeshare. For the best results, look for timeshare relief.
