Just Arrived at My Hotel in Bangkok Thailand

I just arrived at my hotel in Bangkok which is located on Sukhumvit 11. It’s actually a brand new hotel which was just opened 4 months ago. The room isn’t very big, but it is comfortable and has everything I need. I don’t plan on staying in my hotel room much anyway during most of the trip. I decided to snap a photo of the room to post here! The hotel offers free wireless internet access as well as two computers in the lobby with internet access for anyone staying in the hotel to use. I’m going to take a quick shower and then I’ll be back to do a more comprehensive update post about my trip so far.

Two hour stopover at Ninoy Aquino International Airport

Ninoy Aquino Airport in Manila Philippines

So I just arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila, Philippines where I’ll be staying for two hours until my flight to Bangkok, Thailand. The flight here was pretty uneventful as I slept halfway through the whole flight after watching the in-flight movie “Get Smart” with Steve Carell which was a great movie.  I’ve been to Manila one other time when I was much younger, I think I was 13 at the time, and it wasn’t like the way I remembered it.  Everything seemed a lot more bigger and hectic back then, but it just might have been because I was much younger.  There isn’t much to blog about, and I’m getting a little hungry so I think I’ll end this post here and get a bite to eat at one of the delicatessens.

Ready To Head For The Airport

Airline tickets and passport Philippine Airlines

It’s 12:34am on October 4th and I’m heading for the airport to catch my flight on Philippine Airlines. I have my passport, ticket, and two bags filled with only the necessities needed for a short 4 day trip. I’ll have a two hour stopover at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, and if I can get internet access I’ll do an update post when I arrive in the Philippines.  I’m not looking forward to the long stopover, but I guess I’ll try to make the best of it by keeping busy posting on the blog.

I’m off to Thailand!

Thailand

It’s confirmed!  I’m heading for Thailand on October 4th for a four day vacation in the beautiful and exotic city of Bangkok!  I’ve never been to Thailand and I’m excited to get a chance to visit there for the first time.  I’ve heard all the wonderful stories from friends who have visited Thailand on a regular basis and I’ll make sure to take lots of pictures of the temples and palaces for all my readers.  At 4am on October 4th I’ll be jumping on Philippine Airlines for a 2 hour stop over in the Philippines, then heading to Thailand for a wonderful experience.

Google News mix-up causes United Airlines stock to plummet

United Airlines

I was reading some online news site and came across this travel article about how a mix-up in Google News on September 8 caused United Airlines stock price to plunge from $12 to $3 per share, resulting in a loss of about $1 billion on the total stock’s value.

According to the news reports, a newspaper’s online website re-published an old article from 2002 when United Airlines filed for bankruptcy which was later picked up by Google as recent news. When the United Airlines bankruptcy article was seen by it’s stockholders the stock plummeted.

The news fascinated me and I thought you guys might enjoy it as well. Here’s some links to the story if you’d like to read more about it:

Back in Hawaii

I know many of you are wondering why I haven’t made a post in awhile, and the reason is I had to return back to Hawaii for some personal reasons.  I’ll be in Hawaii probably over the next few months and will be blogging about travel in general, but I doubt I will get to post anything about my personal travel experiences as I will be stuck in Hawaii (although not a very bad place to be stuck on).  I hope you continue to read and support the Traveling Project blog, and I’m still looking forward to many exciting adventures and great things to come from this project.

Gas Prices On Guam

Mobil Gas Guam

I think gas prices on Guam are the highest in the United States.  The picture of Mobil Gas prices on the island of Guam was taken about 2 weeks ago, and I have a feeling the island is going to see another gas price increase.  Currently for Unleaded gas it costs $4.31 per gallon and for Super Unleaded the price is $4.44 per gallon.  Although Guam isn’t a big island the high gas prices have been hurting the people who try to budget on their gas consumption.  If you know of anywhere else in the United States where the gas prices are higher I’d be interested to hear about it.  Just post in the comments or send me an email.

Timeshare Vacations
Adventurers, golfers, beach bums, animal lovers, foodies – whatever you love to do on vacation, a timeshare resale or rental provides a great place to stay. Explore distant lands, speak with the locals, learn their customs, and take in the rich history of places you've only dreamed about. Timeshares are spacious and cost-effective, and will allow you to discover the world!

Have you been hit hard by the timeshare resale industry? Many owners who have tried to sell a timeshare have learned the hard way that it's very difficult. Timeshare resale companies charge an upfront fee, but do not sell your timeshare. For the best results, look for timeshare relief.
